Allen Hsu joins Varsity from ApolloMed, a vertically integrated risk bearing organization caring for 1.2M patients, where he served as Chief Growth Officer and SVP of Finance.

Prior to ApolloMed, Mr. Hsu was the VP of Operations with direct P&L responsibility at Optum, a division of UnitedHealth Group, where he led a regional operating group and IPA Strategy. Prior to that he spent 10+ years in corporate finance, operations finance, business intelligence and investment banking.

Mr. Hsu has held executive roles at a broad spectrum of healthcare service organizations ranging from $60M to $200B in revenue, where he navigated the full gamut of business life cycles: growth scaling, turn-arounds, vertical integration and unlocking internal organizational synergies.

Early in his career, he spent time living internationally learning healthcare models in China, Taiwan, India, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Romania and Spain, directly resulting DaVita entering key international markets.

Mr. Hsu earned an MHA from the University of Southern California, where he was Co-President of the Student Health Council and a Dean’s Merit Scholarship recipient. He studied Molecular Biology and Econometrics at the University of California, Davis, where he also met his wife, Dr. Chen.
