Craig Lamp

Chief Technology Officer

Craig Lamp joins Varsity Healthcare Partners with over 25 years of executive healthcare technology and operations experience. He most recently served as Chief Information Officer at Optum, Care Delivery (part of UnitedHealth Group). In this role, Mr. Lamp led technology operations across the 10 markets supporting its transition from a holding company to an operating company model. His on and offshore teams supported employed providers across 170 locations and 30 specialties. Mr. Lamp also served as the western US leader for M&A (technology). In this role he was accountable for pre-acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition technical onboarding for more than 40 transactions.

Prior to his promotion to CIO at Optum, Care Delivery, Mr. Lamp served as National Vice President for Managed Care Operations at Optum, Care Delivery. There he served the initial 13 markets of Optum, Care Delivery (13B) through the design and launch of technical ecosystem and shared services operations. He also established the onboarding model for newly launched markets and their transition to value-based care contracting.

Previously, Mr. Lamp served as COO and CIO for Consulting Radiologists Ltd., a privately owned radiology practice with 90 radiologists serving 120 locations in five states. Here, he led all clinical operations across hospitals, surgery centers and independent imaging centers. CRL experienced strong growth in Mr. Lamp’s tenure through new markets, expanded teleradiology, establishment of a technology MSP, and initiation of a traveling radiologist program for rural facilities.

Prior to this role, Mr. Lamp served as Executive Director for ancillary services at Children’s Minnesota. In this role, he led the laboratory, radiology, pharmacy and home care business units for the organization. Mr. Lamp also served on the Strategy Committee to the Board of Directors. During his tenure, his team won the MN Hospital Association Innovation Award for 2007 for research and implementation of new sedation techniques in pediatric MRI.

In his early career, Mr. Lamp worked in within the healthcare advisory practices of KPMG and Deloitte.

Mr. Lamp holds an MHA from the University of Minnesota and a BA from Gustavus Adolphus College. He lives with his wife and three children in Minneapolis-Saint Paul.
