Douglas Costa

Douglas Costa is a senior leader with over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry as a board member, investor, executive and management consultant.  Mr. Costa joined Varsity Healthcare Partners in early 2023 as an Operating Partner, where he focuses on building and scaling Varsity portfolio companies comprised of rapidly growing lower middle market healthcare organizations.

Prior to joining Varsity, Mr. Costa was the Enterprise Chief Financial Officer at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), one of the leading destination oncology providers in the U.S. Mr. Costa led CTCA to a strategic transaction in early 2022, with the sale of the company to City of Hope. As a member of CTCA’s executive leadership team, he had oversight of financial operations, financial planning and analysis, accounting, mergers and acquisitions, revenue cycle management, and supply chain.

Prior to his tenure at CTCA, Mr. Costa spent considerable time working in the value-based care space, where he held COO and CFO roles at some of the largest and most complex healthcare organizations in the U.S. Earlier in his career, Mr. Costa worked in the healthcare advisory practices of several of the preeminent management consulting firms in the country, after spending many years working in strategy, finance and operations roles on the healthcare provider and managed care sides of the business.

Mr. Costa holds an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University, and BS in Marketing from Bentley University.

Mr. Costa currently serves as a member of The VHP Foundation’s Investment Committee, as well as on the Board of Directors for VetEvolve, Essential Anesthesia Management, Ventra Health and Emergency Care Partners.
