Heidi Canono

Heidi Canono joins Varsity Healthcare Partners with over 30 years of experience in healthcare technology and operations. In her most recent role, she served as Vice President of Technology at Optum, Care Delivery, a division of UnitedHealth Group. During her tenure, Ms. Canono led technology operations across 10 markets, focusing on value-based care contracting and expanding financial risk models. Her extensive expertise and leadership contributions were pivotal in enhancing operational efficiency and implementing advanced technology solutions to support value-based care initiatives.

Ms. Canono began her career at Optum, leading an international healthcare advisory team at Amil in São Paulo, Brazil. She supported strategic planning and technology solutions for 5.4 million health and dental covered lives, including Revenue Cycle, Electronic Health Record, Care Management, and Claims Operations.

Previously, Ms. Canono served in leadership roles and supported all aspects of day-to-day operations for Kaiser Permanente, Colorado Region, Delta Dental of Colorado, and Apria Healthcare’s Rocky Mountain Region. Additionally, she worked within the healthcare advisory practices of Accenture.

Ms. Canono holds a BS in Marketing and Finance from the University of Northern Colorado.
